I am Maya, a soul rooted in love, purpose, and service. As the owner of Books, Beads & Beyond, creator of Phat, Phine-N-Phit and author of Quenched Thirst, Love Between Brothers, Phat Phine Phit & Phree, and I Choose Me, my mission is to uplift, motivate, and inspire.

I am a sunflower girl at heart — drawn to the light, radiating love, and standing tall in faith and resilience. Like the sunflower, I believe in nourishing others with encouragement, energy, and unwavering support.

Through Books, Beads & Beyond, I serve my Gen X Mamas, Grandmas, Aunties, Sistahs, Cuzzins, and Friends by offering handcrafted waist beads, anklets, bracelets, and necklaces that symbolize self-love, healing, and empowerment. My adornments are more than jewelry; they are reminders of your worth, your strength, and your ability to rise.

Why Do I Make Waist beads?

I make waist beads as an encouragement to women. I believe every woman should embrace her beauty from the inside out and feel good about herself. I want every woman to be adorned, feel sexy, have confidence, be positive, love herself like nobody ever can. I handcraft each strand with a purpose in mind, and my hope is that every woman that adorns herself with my beads can feel the positive energy that fills me when I make them, and that she is filled with self-love.
