Why shop with Books, Beads & Beyond

All of our strands are hand-crafted by Maya and inspired by life and the natural beauty that surrounds our lives every day. The strands are meant to uplift, encourage, beautify, and be a constant representation and/or reminder of that which you manifest in your life. Every strand comes with a description and/or word of encouragement. I am a firm believer in the transference of energy, so every strand is created with intention and only when the energy is high and positive. We offer beautiful, unique, affordable pieces.

***Disclaimer***

Strands are created with a variety of glass, wood, or acrylic beads, 100% cotton string, 100% nylon or stretch cord, and all of our clasps and accents are non-tarnish and nickel-free. Some strands are embellished with crystal stones and or other various charms.

Measuring Your Waist

Where do you want your strands to fall?

  1. Stand up straight

  2. Make sure to measure against your skin, not on top of your clothes

  3. place the measuring tape behind you around your desired area (above the navel, at the navel, or below) like you are putting on a belt

  4. Read the numbers where the beginning of the tape measure (0) meets the other end of the tape in the middle. Repeat for accuracy of number

***DO NOT pull the tape measure too tight, and don’t suck your stomach in.

Tied Strands

***Remember tie-on strands are meant for continuous wear until you cut them off, they are not meant to be put on and taken off on a daily basis.

To tie on your waist beads:

  1. Place your strand around your waist as if you are putting on a belt, deciding where you want your strands to sit

  2. cross your strings and pull like you are tying your shoes. Be mindful to leave enough room for bloating, sitting, and every day movement. Your strands are not meant to be extra tight.

  3. Tie about 4 to 5 knots to secure your strands, then cut the access beads and string off above the knot. For extra security, you can add a small drop of super glue on your knot.
